After I updated my second bedroom/office with my spotted wall, it was time to spruce up the bedding and DIY a headboard. Of course, I went to Pinterest for inspiration and saw a few ideas like turning a door into a headboard, or plywood, but then I saw the idea to just paint it!

I had some paint samples from Sherwin Williams when I thought about painting my second bedroom (before the spotted wall decision). The color I went with was a soft pink called Abalone Shell and I think it matched perfectly with the dotted wall, and my black, cream and gold theme.

The Process

I started by penciling an outline to see how it framed the room. Next, I used a leveler and drew my outline, and I applied my tape. Then I painted the first coat, and about two hours later, I applied the second coat, and done! The next morning I removed the tape and looked at the outcome. Perfect!

New Bedding

So now that I had my headboard on the wall, new bedding was needed. I decided to go with a couple of new throw pillows, cream/off white duvet, and a pale pink throw blanket. I’ve linked the items below.
