Welcome to Kirby Cares Foundation

A philanthropy organization providing preventive care assistance to the men and women in our community with chronic conditions regardless of immigration status.

Who We Are

The Kirby Cares Foundation is a philanthropic organization that was formed out of the need to provide preventive care assistance, preventive health education, and to connect our underserved men and women to other community resources that align with our purpose.

We began by dedicating our time and services to our community members who needed either guidance to navigate the healthcare system or were unable to afford the benefits of preventive care services.

The foundation was officially brought to life by the generosity of our community members who discovered our efforts (featured in the Winston-Salem Journal) and wished to join us for the greater cause. Terri Kirby Erickson, North Carolina author, donated funds in loving memory and in honor of her late parents, Tom and Loretta Kirby, along with a note about their devotion to one another as well as their history of lifelong giving.

Tom and Loretta’s inspiring love story and concern for others inspired the Kirby Cares Foundation name. Our focus is to provide ongoing preventive care and accessibility to as many families as possible in our community, with love and compassion for all.

Our Mission

To further our efforts in providing quality care in preventive health and provide urgent point-of-care-testing needs everyone deserves without inequality. To serve through education and awareness. To encourage patient-engagement in their healthcare.

Testimonials

“They helped me get my meds when times were hard dealing with having no insurance, having insurance but still not being able to get my meds. They also helped me and were easier to deal with and communicate better than other pharmacies that wouldn’t give you the medication if you couldn’t afford it, but needed it to live.”

“Estamos muy agradecidos porque en los momentos más difíciles en la enfermedad de mi esposo me ayudaron mucho con medicamentos y orientación de adonde ir para que me ayudarán con lo que el necesitaba. Llenado papeles que yo no entienda por no hablar el inglés de igual forma en hacer le las preguntas a los doctores de mi esposo. Muchas gracias por todo su apoyo Dios los bendiga 🙏🏾”

“They mean so much to me and my mother. My mother is a patient; I am her oldest daughter. I live in Pennsylvania. Anytime I have a question about her medication, they are willing to help with a friendly and helpful attitude. They are willing to go that extra mile. I know my mother is in good hands with them. I am so thankful for all they do for their patients and community.”
